(10) Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"
(Mat 6:24 - 32 NKJV)
(24)"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
(25) "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
(26) "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
(27) "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
(28) "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
(29) "and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
(30) "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
(31) "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' (32) "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
(33) "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Chapter Four
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
(Luke 12:16 -21 NKJV)
16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.
17 "And he thought within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to store my(I) crops?'
18 "So he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my(I) barns and build greater, and there I will store all my(I) crops and my(I) goods.
19 'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry."'
20 "But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?'
21 "So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
(James 4:13 17 & 5:1 - 6 NKJV)
13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."
16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.
4 Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
5 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
6 You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.
Mat 22:8 14 NKJV)
(8) "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
(9) 'Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.'
(10) "So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
(11) "But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.
(12) "So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
(13) "Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
(14) "For many are called, but few are chosen."
(Mat 6:33 NKJV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
(Acts 20:24 NKJV)
(24)"But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
(1 Cor 9:23 27 NKJV)
(23) Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
(24) Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
(25) And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
(26) Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
(27) But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
(2 Tim 4:1 8 NKJV)
(1) I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
(2) Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
(3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
(4) and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
(5) But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
(6) For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
(7) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
(8) Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
(John 18:36 NKJV)
(36) Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."
(37) Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."
(Mark 8:34 35 NKJV)
(34)When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.(35) "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. (36) "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Chapter Five
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
(8) For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life.
(9) And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.
(10) So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
(John 9:1-4 NKJV) )
(1) Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.(2) And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" (3) Jesus answered,
"Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. (4) "I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
(Mark 10:21-27 NKJV)
Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."(22) But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
(23) Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!"
(24) And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God
(25) "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
(26) And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, "Who then can be saved?"
(27) But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."
(Luke 12:33 & 34 NKJV)
(33) "Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.(34) "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".
(John 1:1 KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(John 1:2 KJV) The same was in the beginning with God.
(John 1:3 KJV) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
(John 1:4 KJV) In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
(John 1:5 KJV) And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
(John 1:6 KJV) There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
(John 1:7 KJV) The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
(John 1:8 KJV) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
(John 1:9 KJV) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
(John 1:10 KJV) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
(John 1:11 KJV) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
(John 1:12 KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
(John 1:13 KJV) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(John 1:14 KJV) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Through my personal relationship with Jesus, I have "beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father". I know that I am here to bare witness of who and what He is.
(Mat 24:14 KJV) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
(Rom 1:16 KJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
(Gal 2:20 NKJV)
(20) "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
(Luke 6:38 NKJV) "
Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
(Rev 3:15 17 NKJV)
(15) "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.(16) "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
(17) "Because you say, I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing; and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;
(Mal 3:8 10 NKJV)
(8) "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, In what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings.(9) You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
(10) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."
(Mat 5:40 42NKJV)
(41)"If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also.(42) "And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two
(42) "Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.
(Luke 3:9 11 NASB)
(9) "And also the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."(10) And the multitudes were questioning him, saying, "then what shall we do?"
(11) And he would answer and say to them, "Let the man who has two tunics share with him who has none; and let him who has food do likewise."
John 1:14 NKJV
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
(Luke 12:16 NKJV)
(16) Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.
(17) "And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?
(18) "So he said, I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods.
(19) And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry."
(20) "But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?
(21) "So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." (what does it mean to be rich towards God.)
(22) Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.
(23) "Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
(24) "Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?
(25) "And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
(26) "If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?
(27) "Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
(28) "If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?
(29) "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind.
(30) "For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things.
(31) "But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
(32) "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
(33) "Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.
(34) "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
(Rev 3:15 17 NKJV)
(15) "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. (16) "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. (17) "Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'; and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;
(Luke 12:35 48 NKJV)
(35) "Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;
(36) "and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.
(37) "Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.
(38) "And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
(39) "But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
(40) "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
(41) Then Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?"
(42) And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? (food in due season - heavenly treasure, maybe )
(43) "Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.
(44) "Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.
(45) "But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,
(Christian school teachers make 10K. Who makes five to a ten times more in the church? These great church leaders tell me of all the stuff that their god has given them and wants them to have. These leaders spend more on the purchase of one automobile than most missionaries have to live off of for one, two or even more years. Who is being beat and who is eating and drinking and is drunk? Is the one who is being beat the one who's family suffers want because he is trying to do the will of God with his life. Or is it the one who brings his family to church in a 40K SUV, parks in his special parking place with his name on it, and enters the great building that he has had built, and preaches another bless me lord sermon from the pulpit and the building he personally designed.)
(46) "the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
(47) "And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
(48) "But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
(49) "I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
(Psa 23:1 - 3 NKJV)
(1) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
(2 ) He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
(3) He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
(Mark 14:34 NKJV) Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch."
(Mark 14:35 NKJV) He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him.
(Mark 14:36 NKJV) And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me;
Chapter Six
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
(Mat 4:19 NKJV)
Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
(Mat 8:21 22 NKJV)
(21) Then another of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." (22) But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
(Mat 9:9 NKJV)
(9) As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me." So he arose and followed Him.
Want To Change Your Value System, Get In Step Behind Jesus
(Mat 19:21 NKJV)
(21) Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
(John 10:27 NKJV)
(27) "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
(Mark 8:34 NKJV)
(34) When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
(Mark 10:21 NKJV)
(21) Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."How Often Does Jesus Want Us To Follow Him,
(Luke 9:23 NKJV)
(23) Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
(Luke 22:40 - 45 NKJV)
(40) When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation. "(41) And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and prayed, (42) saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done. "(43) Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. (44) And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (45) When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow. Bottom line, our flesh will yell and scream just as Jesus flesh did. "And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground." But to be in the will of the Father, we must do His will and not our own will.Center our life on God and other and we will be in the will of God.
(John 12:26 NKJV)
(26) "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. (27) "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose, I came to this hour.
(Mat 28:18 20 NKJV)
(18) And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19) "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
(Luke 4:18 NKJV)
(18) "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
(Gal 2:20 NKJV)
(20) "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
(Mat 9:36 NKJV)
(36) But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. (37) Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. (38) "Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
(Mat 9:36 NKJV)
(36) But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
(Mat 9:38 NKJV)
(38) "Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
(Mark 8:3)
(3) "And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar."
(Mat 14:14 NKJV)
(14) And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.
(Mat 20:34 NKJV)
(34) So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
(Mark 5:2 & 8 NKJV)
(2) And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, (8) For He said to him, "Come out of the man, unclean spirit!"
(Mark 6:34 NKJV)
And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.
(Mark 8:3 NKJV)
(8) But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
(Mat 18:26 - 27)
(26) "The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, 'Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' (27) "Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.
(Mark 1:41 NKJV)
(41) Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed."
(Luke 7:13 & 14)
(13) When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." (14) Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." (15) So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.
(Mark 10:27 NKJV) "
But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."
(Rom 6:1-23 Rom 7:1-25 Rom 8 1-14 NKJV)
(Rom 6:1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? (2) Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? (3) Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (4) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (5) For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, (6) knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. (7) For he who has died has been freed from sin. (8) Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, (9) knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. (10) For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.(11) Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (12) Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. (13) And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. (14) For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. (Rom 6:15 NKJV) What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! (16) Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? (17) But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. (18) And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. (19 NKJV) I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. (20) For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. (21) What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. (22) But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. (6) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Rom 7:1 NKJV) Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? (7) For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. (7) So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. (4) Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another; to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. (5) For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. (7) But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter. (7) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." (8) But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. (9 ) I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. (10) And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. (11) For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. (12) Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. (13) Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. (14) For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. (15) For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. (16) If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. (17) But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. (18) For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. (19) For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. (20) Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. (21) I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. (22) For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. (23) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (24) O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? (25) I thank God; through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
(Rom 8:1 NKJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (8) For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, (4) that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (5) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. (8) So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. (9) But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. (10) And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (11) But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors; not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. (13) For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Chapter 7
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth
is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And
You are exalted as head over all.
(1 Chr 29:12 NKJV)
Both riches and honor come from You,
And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
(1 Chr 29:13 NKJV)
"Now therefore, our God, We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
(1 Chr 29:14 NKJV)
But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
(Luke 19:12 27 NKJV)
(12) Therefore He said: "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. (13) "So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come.' (14) "But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We will not have this man to reign over us.' (15) "And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading16) "Then came the first, saying, 'Master, your mina has earned ten minas.' (17) "And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.' (18) "And the second came, saying, 'Master, your mina has earned five minas.' (19) "Likewise he said to him, 'You also be over five cities.' (20) "Then another came, saying, 'Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. (21) 'For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.' (22) "And he said to him, 'Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow23) 'Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?' (24) "And he said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.' (25) ("But they said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas.') (26) 'For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. (27) 'But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.'"
(Mat 25:14 30 NKJV)
(14) "For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. (15) "And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. (16) "Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents (17) "And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. (18) "But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money. (19) "After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. (20) "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' (21) "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' (22) "He also who had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.' (23) "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' (24) "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. (25) 'And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours. (26) "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed (27) 'So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. (28) 'Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. (29) 'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. (30) 'And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
(Luke 12:47 & 48 NASB)
(47)"And that slave who knew his master's will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, shall receive many lashes, (48) but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. And from everyone who has been given much shall much be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
(Mark 12:41 - 44 NASB)
(41) And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the multitude were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. (42) And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amounts to a cent. (43) And calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; (44) for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on."
(Deu 8:18 NKJV) "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
(Deu 8:19 NKJV) "Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.
(Deu 8:20 NKJV) "As the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.
(Col 3:5 NKJV)
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
(2 Cor 6: 16 7:1 NKJV)
(16) And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people." (17) Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you." (18) "I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty." (7 - 1) Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
(Mat 6:31 & 32 NKJV)
"(31) Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' (32) "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
(Phil 4:10 _ 13 & 17 NKJV)
(10) But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. (11) Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: (12) I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. (13) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
(17) Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
Chapter 8
(Heb 11:6 NKJV) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
(("Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. (34) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"))
(Rom 1:17 NKJV)
(17) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
(Heb 10:35 - 39 NKJV)
(35) Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. (36) For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: (37) "For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. (38) Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." (39) But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
(Luke 12:15 - 38 NKJV)
15 And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses." 16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 "And he thought within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?' 18 "So he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry."' 20 "But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' 21 "So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." 22 Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 "Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 24 "Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 "And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 "If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? 27 "Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 "If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? 29 "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 "For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 "But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. 32 "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 "Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 35 "Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 "and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. 37 "Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. 38 "And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
(Prov 11:24 & 25 NKJV)
There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. (25) The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
(Heb 4:16 NKJV) Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
(Mat 19:21 29 NKJV)
21) Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. 23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 "And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?"
28 So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.
(1 John 4:2 NKJV) By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
(1 John 4:3 NKJV) and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
(1 John 4:4 NKJV) You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Chapter 9
What Comes First
(7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; (Psa 19:8 - 10 NKJV) The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; (9) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. (10) More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
(Rom 15:1 - 2NASB
(1) Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. (2) Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.
(Acts 4:33 - 35 NKJV
(Acts 4:33 NKJV) And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. (Acts 4:34 NKJV) Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, (Acts 4:35 NKJV) and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
(1 Cor 12:12 27 NKJV)
12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body; whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free; and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.
15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be? 20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
(Luke 12:48 NKJV)
(48) "But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
(Eph 4:11 - 13NKJV)
(11) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, (12) for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, (13) till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
(Mat 20:1 - 16 NKJV)
20:1 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
2 "Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 "And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4 "and said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' So they went.
5 "Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.
6 "And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, 'Why have you been standing here idle all day?'
7 "They said to him, 'Because no one hired us.' He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.'
8 "So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, 'Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.'
9 "And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius.
10 "But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius.
11 "And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner,
12 "saying, 'These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.'
13 "But he answered one of them and said, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?
14 'Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.
15 'Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?'
16 "So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen."
"Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need." (Acts 4:3 - 35 NKJV)
Now add these Scriptures
(2 Cor 8:13 15 NKJV) (13) "For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; (14) but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack; that there may be equality.(15) As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack."
(Ex 16:16 - 19) 16 "This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: 'Let every man gather it according to each one's need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.'"
17 Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less.
18 So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need.
And Moses said, "Let no one leave any of it till morning."
(1 Cor 12:22 27 NKJV)
(22) No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. (23) And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, (24) but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, (25) that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another (26) And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. (27) Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
(Mark 9:35 NKJV)
(35) And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."
In the natural world, who is paid more, the servant of the one being served?
The flesh, walking in the flesh that is mentioned in the Word, will always figure out how to use the Word to get itself, the flesh more. So if your doctrine makes it OK for you to have more of this worlds good because of who you are or what you are, your doctrine is of the flesh. If your doctrine says it is no longer I who live, but it Christ who lives in me, and you have chosen to deny yourself rather than exalt yourself above others, maybe you are ready to look closely at this verse.
(1 Cor 12:12 - 27 NKJV)
(Luke 13:23 30 NKJV)
(23) Then one said to Him, "Lord, are there few who are saved?" And He said to them, (24) "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. (25) "When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,' (26) "then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.' (27) "But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.' (28) "There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. (29) "They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God. (30) "And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last."
1 Cor 12:24 but our presentable parts have no need.
(
2 Cor 8:13 NKJV) For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened;
(2 Cor 8:14 NKJV) but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack; that there may be equality.
(Acts 2:39 NKJV) "For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
(Acts 2:40 NKJV) And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation."
(Acts 2:41 NKJV) Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
(Acts 2:42 NKJV) And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
(Acts 2:43 NKJV) Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
(Acts 2:44 NKJV) Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,
(Acts 2:45 NKJV) and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
(Acts 2:46 NKJV) So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
(Acts 2:47 NKJV) praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

(7) Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, (8) Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest. (9) How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? (10) A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep; (11) So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.
(Joel 2:25 NASB)
